Daley Addresses Coaching Criticism Post-Series

Laurie Daley stands on the sidelines at State of Origin III.

Laurie Daley, the coach of the NSW Blues, has indicated he will confront the criticism surrounding his coaching once the State of Origin series concludes.

In a press briefing on Monday, he announced a squad featuring six changes for Origin III, scheduled at Brisbane's Lang Park on July 8.

His coaching choices and bench management faced significant backlash following the Blues' disappointing performance in Origin II at the MCG.

Despite holding a 12-8 lead at halftime, the team ultimately fell 44-24, allowing the Maroons to equal the series.

This marks the second consecutive year in which Daley secured a series opener but succumbed in the following match.

"No-one enjoys criticism, but I understand it comes and it happens," Daley remarked.

"I'll touch on some of the comments and commentary around that after the third game."

With his track record showing just one victory in six series across two tenures as coach, speculation is mounting regarding potential successors to the Canberra Raiders legend for next year.

In the history of State of Origin, the Blues have only managed to secure three series deciders in Brisbane.
