Cronulla's 2027 roster is facing its biggest changes since the club's 2021 overhaul, with several players able to test the market from November 1.
Back-rower Briton Nikora, along with long-serving teammates William Kennedy and Teig Wilton, is considering his options.
The Daily Telegraph reported Nikora has yet to agree on a new Sharks deal, although his preference is to stay at the club.
The New Zealand Kiwis forward and Queensland Maroons debutant is reportedly due to earn $600,000 in 2027.
Sharks back-rowers are expected to attract rival offers worth $700,000 to $800,000 a season, potentially influencing whether Nikora stays.
Thomas Dellow, Brad Fearnley, Harrison Hassett, Blake Hosking, Liam Ison, Riley Jones and Oregon Kaufusi are also eligible to explore the market.
Fearnley, Hassett and Hosking have recently agreed to one-year deals with Cronulla.
Nikora, who turns 29 in December, played 19 games this season as his form dipped after years of strong performances alongside halfback Nicho Hynes.
He averaged 92.7 running metres from 12.3 runs per game, exceeded 100 metres in four matches, made 764 tackles at 92.3 per cent efficiency and recorded 24 tackle busts.
