Melbourne Storm's Munster keeps Sydney move open

Melbourne Storm move that could threaten integrity of NRL finals: Good, bad, ugly of Round 25

Cameron Munster has not ruled out joining a Sydney NRL club as he considers his options for 2028.

Before the 2026 Rugby League World Cup, he described Melbourne's latest two-year extension offer as "lowballed."

The proposal reportedly includes a $350,000 cut from the $1.1 million he is expected to earn in 2027.

Munster attributed the offer to his performance, saying Melbourne would not pay him if he failed to deliver.

His new agent, Justin Caines, told News Corp that Sydney was among the options as they approach November 1.

"I can tell you, we are not ruling out a move to Sydney," Caines said.

Munster held talks with the PNG Chiefs during the season, but both sides paused them to reduce distractions.

He has also hinted at a Queensland return and runs a pub on Caxton Street.

Melbourne missed the finals for the first time since 2010 after the club was caught breaching the salary cap.
