Crichton cleared for Origin: Charge dropped, game on

Canterbury Bulldogs centre Stephen Crichton has received a Grade 1 dangerous contact charge but will be eligible to play in the State of Origin Game 1, despite concerns following a tackle in Friday's match against the Sydney Roosters.

The Bulldogs managed to secure a tight win, coming back multiple times, marking their ninth victory of the season as they approach the Origin period.

Crichton is expected to be a key player for the Blues, with team selections to be announced by Laurie Daley ahead of the series opener on Wednesday, May 28, in Brisbane.

The incident that raised alarms for selectors occurred when Crichton was penalised for a tackle on Roosters forward Lindsay Collins.

Crichton made contact with Collins after a deflected grubber, leading to worries about his availability for the upcoming game.
