The North Queensland Cowboys are advancing their plans for a $30 million Community, Development and High Performance Centre at West Barlow Park in Cairns.

Recently, the Cowboys' boards convened to prepare for the development application required to initiate construction.

They have secured initial funding with a $15 million commitment from the Federal Government, which will help kickstart the project.

This centre is set to serve as the home for the Cowboys' NRLW team and the Northern Pride, while also being accessible to other sporting groups in the Cairns and Far North Queensland community, much like the Hutchinson Builders Centre in Townsville.

During their meeting, the Cowboys Football Club and Leagues Club boards discussed strategies for bolstering investment in the Far North Queensland region.

Central to their agenda was the goal of establishing a "social home" for the Cowboys in Cairns.

In conjunction with these discussions, the Cowboys also held a stakeholder meeting that brought together local council and government officials, as well as representatives from sporting organizations and commercial partners.

This collaborative effort highlights the Cowboys' commitment to enhancing their presence and community engagement in the Cairns area.
