Corey Harawira-Naera, a second-rower for the Canberra Raiders, is set to return to rugby league nearly two years after experiencing an on-field seizure that threatened to end his career.
As reported by zerotackle.com, Harawira-Naera had previously played for the Penrith Panthers and Canterbury Bulldogs before joining the Raiders.
He was participating in his 123rd NRL game when he suffered the seizure during a match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Despite undergoing extensive testing over the past two years, no definitive cause for the seizures has been identified.
However, The Sydney Morning Herald has confirmed that he has been cleared for his NRL return, and the league will facilitate the registration of his contract with any interested club.
Harawira-Naera expressed optimism about his future, stating, "We've gotten to a place where I can start looking ahead and planning to get back on the field."
