Cooper Johns, the son of rugby league icon Matty Johns, has been identified as the "perfect fit" for a new TV initiative that seeks to introduce rugby league to American viewers.
The proposed show aims to merge NRL highlights, interviews, and lifestyle segments with coverage of NFL and college football.
As Simmons pointed out, "You've not only got the NRL now here in Las Vegas, but you've also got the NFL looking to grow itself globally, too."
He added, "So why not create a program that combines the two?"
"And someone like Cooper Johns would be the perfect fit. Or you could go with Jake Duke, or even Cooper Cronk …"
Should the initiative prove successful, it could signify a significant advancement in broadening the international reach of rugby league, with Las Vegas positioned as the focal point of this plan.
