Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon was seen striking a computer monitor during an unexpected defeat to Parramatta, a surprising display of emotion.
The recent performance issues have evidently weighed heavily on Fitzgibbon, who expressed his frustration after Tom Hazelton was sent to the sin bin with six minutes remaining, ending any hope of a comeback.
Cameras focused on Fitzgibbon after referee Ashley Klein's decision to penalize Hazelton for a hip drop while the Sharks trailed 26-18.
The Eels capitalized on the man advantage, adding two tries to secure their victory.
This defeat all but ends the Sharks' aspirations for a top four finish, leaving them likely to settle for fifth place in the standings.
Fitzgibbon's former teammate Bryan Fletcher remarked that the outburst was quite out of character for him.
"That was very unlike Fitzy. He's usually very calm up there in the box," Fletcher stated.
"You know he's a black belt by the way so that screen's not coming back."
