The Canterbury Bulldogs are set to secure the services of star centre Bronson Xerri with a new contract extension, while also making the tough decision not to pursue prop Terrell May for another deal.

Xerri, who made a strong comeback to the game in 2024 after serving a drugs ban, quickly proved himself to be a key player in Cameron Ciraldo's squad.

The 24-year-old's stellar form earned him a spot in the starting lineup, and he shone in the blue and white jersey throughout the season, appearing in 19 games.

Heading into the 2025 season, Xerri is expected to be a guaranteed starter for the Bulldogs, thanks to his impressive performance on the field.

Despite his contract expiring at the end of the year, Xerri is likely to stay loyal to the club and sign a new two-year deal, according to reports from The Sydney Morning Herald.

With Xerri's future secured, the Bulldogs are focusing on building a strong team for the upcoming season.

While May may not be part of their plans, the Bulldogs are determined to make their mark in the league and show that they are contenders for the title.
