Bulldogs Enforcer Sparks Vegas Season Debate

LeagueNews.co | Cooper McEnroe

With just 39 days remaining until the Bulldogs kick off their season in Las Vegas, a significant discussion has emerged regarding one of the team's key forward acquisitions.

Recently, rumors began to circulate that new signing Leo Thompson had sustained a serious injury and might be out for an extended period. This speculation gained momentum on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, where Phil Gould, a prominent figure at the Bulldogs, frequently addresses inquiries about the team's situation.

When directly questioned, Gould refuted the rumors, stating that he was uncertain about the source of such information and effectively dismissed the idea of any severe injury affecting Thompson.

Nevertheless, it is evident that Thompson has encountered some sort of setback as pre-season approaches.

During a members' signing and open training session hosted by the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, despite the inclement weather, a large number of supporters witnessed Thompson training apart from the main group. He was seen working with Jethro Rinakama in the rehabilitation squad instead of engaging in the full practice session.

As for Thompson's readiness for the season opener in Vegas, it remains uncertain. Currently, this appears to be a minor setback, which is fairly common during this time of year, especially for a player adjusting to a new club and system.

On a positive note, Thompson displayed strength, moved effectively, and exhibited no clear signs of limitation while going through his drills.
