In a move that sent shock waves through the Rugby League world, the Canterbury Bulldogs have shown winger Josh Addo-Carr the door.
The seasoned player, who donned the blue and white jersey since the dawn of the 2022 season after parting ways with the Melbourne Storm, went head-to-head with the club's board in a bid to salvage his future.
Striding into Belmore with legal representation by his side, Addo-Carr had his contract secured with the Bulldogs until the culmination of the 2025 season.
However, a twist of fate has now forced him to seek out a new playing field a year earlier than expected.
"The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Football Club has made the tough call to part ways with Josh Addo-Carr, effective immediately.
This was a decision not taken lightly, but after much deliberation by the Board," stated club chairman Adam Driussi in a press release confirming the news.
"Josh has been an integral part of the Club for the past three seasons.
Throughout this time, he has delivered countless unforgettable moments for the loyal Members and fans.
We acknowledge Josh's popularity among the fervent supporter base, and we join them in lamenting the unfortunate end to his tenure with the Club."
