Reports of player discontent at the Broncos under Michael Maguire are growing stronger, raising concerns about potential mass departures as details of an "emotional" team meeting surface.
The Broncos made unwanted history when they succumbed to the Roosters last weekend, marking the first time in 73 years that a defending champion has lost seven consecutive games in the following season.
Following their championship victory last year, Brisbane's performance in 2026 has plummeted, with only five wins out of 15 matches. The prospect of reaching the finals now appears distant.
"They seem to have lost their desire, their will to win. You could go on with what they need to find. They're well and truly gone (this season)," The Daily Telegraph's Dean Ritchie remarked.
"You know their seven-match losing streak is the worst such streak by a defending premier since 1953. That's an abhorrent stat."
