Broncos Extend Promising Forward Semu's Contract

The Brisbane Broncos have made a significant move for their future by extending the contract of promising young forward Va'a 'VJ' Semu until the end of 2028.

At just 22 years old, Semu has quickly established himself as one of the club's standout young forwards after progressing through the Broncos Academy and making his NRL debut in Round 8 this season.

Since that debut, he has appeared in every game for the Broncos, proving himself to be a dependable middle option for coach Michael Maguire.

Semu, recognized for his formidable defensive skills and ability to break tackles, joined the club at 17 and has successfully navigated the pathways program.

In 2024, he debuted in the Queensland Cup with the Souths Logan Magpies and has gone on to play 38 matches for the team's affiliate while also having a stint with the Burleigh Bears earlier this year.

His impressive pre-season performances led him to secure a spot in the first-grade lineup, and he has not looked back since.

"I'm grateful to the Broncos for what they have given me over the past five years," he expressed.

"Not only have they helped me develop as a player, but more importantly, the Club's culture has made me a better person off the field.

"I'm excited to see what the next two years have in store."
