The mighty Brisbane Broncos dynamo, Gayle Broughton, has been named as one of four sparkling debutants in the Kiwi Ferns squad for the upcoming Pacific Championships, where they will face off against the formidable teams from Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Broughton, who soared to Olympic glory with a gold medal at the 2020 Games in Tokyo, will proudly don the revered Kiwi Ferns jersey for the very first time.

Joining her in this exciting new chapter are the talented Raiders centre Mackenzie Wiki, the powerful Dragons lock Alexis Tauaneai, and the tenacious Wests Tigers forward Brooke Talataina.

A name that is sure to resonate with Rugby League enthusiasts is Wiki, the daughter of the legendary NRL Hall of Famer Ruben Wiki.

The proud father is part of an elite group of Kiwis who have surpassed the milestone of 50 Tests, joining the ranks of the esteemed Adam Blair.

Leading this formidable squad onto the field will be the exceptional Georgia Hale, the recipient of the prestigious IRL Golden Boot award.

Hale, whose Test debut was back in 2014, has been a pillar of strength for the team, showcasing her unwavering dedication and skill time and time again.

In a nod to her growing influence within the team, the Titans lock was named as co-captain alongside Raecene McGregor last season.

However, for the upcoming season in 2024, Hale will proudly stand as the sole captain, as McGregor has made the difficult decision to step back from selection this year due to family commitments.
