The Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles have had a challenging and arduous journey, but their hard work has finally paid off as they prepare for their first-ever NSW Cup finals appearance.
They will face the Canberra Raiders in an elimination semi-final at North Sydney Oval on September 2.
Finishing the regular season in fifth place, the Sea Eagles will be up against a tough opponent as the Raiders finished just one point ahead in fourth place.
This finals match is a moment of pride for the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles, as well as their supporters, officials, and players.
It is their best result to date, and the first time a Sea Eagles team has made it to the NSW Cup finals since Manly qualified in 2015.
The partnership between Manly and the Blacktown Workers Junior Rugby League Football Club, which was formed in July 2016, has proven to be successful in their journey to the finals.
The Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles have followed the blueprint used by other NRL clubs in forming a joint venture with NSW feeder clubs.
Originally planned for four years, the partnership has been extended to its current deal.
Home games are split between Blacktown's H.E Laybutt Field and 4 Pines Park, ensuring that the team has a strong support base at both locations.
After a few challenging years that included two wooden spoon finishes, the club has experienced a resurgence in 2023 under the guidance of new Head Coach Greg Boulous and Assistant Coach Brock Shepperd.
Their leadership and the hard work of the players have been instrumental in the Sea Eagles' success this season.
As the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles prepare for their historic finals appearance, they will undoubtedly give their all on the field.
With the support of their fans and the determination that has brought them this far, they have the potential to make a strong impact in the NSW Cup finals.
