The Rabbitohs, under the watchful eye of Wayne Bennett, are shaping up their team for the 2025 NRL season with a ruthless cull of seven players.
Following a disastrous 2024 campaign, Souths are in dire need of a shake-up, and Bennett is leading the charge, even while still coaching the Dolphins.
Bennett has already secured deals to bring in Dolphins duo Euan Aitken and Lachlan Hubner, along with Gerome Burns, Lewis Dodd, Jamie Humphreys, and Max McCarthy for next season.
These new signings are set to inject some much-needed talent and energy into the team.
However, as the Bunnies bring in fresh faces, they are also bidding farewell to some familiar ones.
Damien Cook and Tom Burgess have been given their marching orders, with Cook heading to the Dragons and Burgess to Huddersfield.
Additionally, halfbacks Dean Hawkins and Dion Teaupa, winger Izaac Thompson, and forwards Leon Te Hau and Michael Chee-Kam will also be seeking new opportunities.
Chee-Kam is rumored to be joining the Sea Eagles, while Hawkins is reportedly in talks with the Eels and Titans.
Teaupa, Thompson, and Te Hau, however, find themselves without any concrete offers from other NRL clubs at this time, leaving their futures uncertain for the upcoming season.
The rebuilding process at South Sydney continues, with Bennett's vision for success taking shape, piece by piece.
