Ahead of his debut match as head honcho of the Wests Tigers, Benji Marshall is confident in his ability to lead the team to victory.

Marshall, a former player who knows a thing or two about success, is determined to prove any doubters wrong.

"I didn't play 347 games by slacking off," Marshall declared.

"You've got to put in the hard work to get the results you want."

As he takes on the daunting task of reviving a team he once steered to a championship in 2005, Marshall is unfazed by the naysayers who question his work ethic.

He dismisses rumors of arriving late to training, emphasizing that success is not solely measured by the hours put in.

Facing off against seasoned coach Ricky Stuart and the Canberra Raiders this Saturday, Marshall is eager to show what he's made of.

He knows he still has much to learn in the coaching game, but he's not afraid to give it his all.

"I may be a rookie coach, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to lead this team to victory," Marshall said.

"You can bet your bottom dollar I'll be putting in the hard yards to make it happen."
