Jake Toby and Matt Stimson have committed to the North Sydney Bears, signing contracts that extend through the 2027 season.
The duo plays pivotal roles in the Bears' leadership and is instrumental in maintaining the club's high competitiveness within the NSW Cup.
Toby, who initially joined the Bears from the Manly Sea Eagles prior to the 2024 season, will be entering his fourth year with the team.
He shone during the 2023 preseason challenge, contributing significantly to Manly, who emerged as champions in that inaugural event.
This season, Toby has made a remarkable impact, achieving nine tries, 14 line breaks, and 16 try assists in 15 matches, showcasing his playmaking abilities.
His new contract also allows him the opportunity to train with the Bears' NRL team during the 2027 pre-season.
Stimson, a versatile second-rower, has been a consistent scoring threat, managing nine tries and 13 line breaks across 21 games.
At 27, he has experience within the elite Panthers system and led the U18s Thunderbolts in 2019.
In the upcoming Week 2 of the finals, Stimson is set to reach a milestone of 100 appearances in the NSW Cup-a testament to his dedication and hard work.
Daniel Hutton, the football operations manager for North Sydney, expressed enthusiasm over the players' re-signing.
He remarked, "As we embark on the finals series for the 2026 season, we are also excited to look ahead to 2027 and continue building on the strong foundations of the NSW Cup program."
