Dual premiership-winning halfback Adam Reynolds has concluded his last match in the NRL.
The Brisbane Broncos confirmed that their captain won't be able to compete again until 2026 due to ongoing calf injuries, marking the end of his impressive 323-match career.
"The Brisbane Broncos can confirm that Adam Reynolds will not be available for selection for the remaining two NRL games against the Storm and Bulldogs due to ongoing injury concerns regarding his calves," the statement noted.
Though disappointed he cannot say goodbye with a final match at Suncorp, the 36-year-old departs with minimal regrets.
"All NRL careers come to an end and unfortunately mine is today, I won't be playing this week or next week," Reynolds stated earlier on Brisbane radio.
"The left calf was giving me nerve issues, and then I had a little grade one strain in the right calf which has not bounced back as quickly as I would've liked.
"I trained today and thought I would be a chance to play one last home game… but it's not to be."
Reynolds began his first-grade journey with the Rabbitohs in 2012.
After a decade with the cardinal and myrtle-capped by a premiership win in 2014-he relocated to Brisbane in 2022, captaining the team to its first NRL title in 19 years in 2025.
He also represented NSW in two Origin matches in 2016.
Looking ahead, Reynolds is expected to move into a coaching role with the Broncos in 2027, focusing on guiding the club's halves and mentoring younger players.
