In a classic case of footy redemption, Dolphins forward Kenneath Bromwich has let slip that the pre-season grind has hit another level at the Dolphins following their heart-wrenching end to the 2024 NRL season.
The Dolphins, a team in their sophomore year, were teetering on the edge of a finals berth for most of the season despite battling through a string of injuries and fielding a team that was, at times, missing key players.
The pack was hit particularly hard with injuries to stalwarts Thomas Flegler and Tom Gilbert, leaving the forward line in a dire situation.
Yet, despite the setbacks, the Dolphins came up short of a finals spot on the last day of the regular season with a tough loss to the Newcastle Knights.
In a recent media appearance, Bromwich shared his thoughts on the newfound intensity in the club's pre-season training, now that they are in the era post-Wayne Bennett.
With Kristian Woolf at the helm for his first full season as head coach, Bromwich noted, "Pre-season's been really, really hard at the moment, the standards have probably picked up a bit, I reckon," per NRL.com.
It appears the Dolphins are gearing up for a fierce fight in the upcoming season, ready to leave it all out on the field and make their mark in the NRL competition.
With a renewed focus and determination, the Dolphins are poised to charge into the finals and show the rugby league world what they are made of.
