Zali Hopkins, the youngest captain in the NRLW, has gained valuable experience for her leadership role with St George Illawarra by working in the club's membership team.
According to nrl.com.au, the 23-year-old hooker spent the offseason engaging with members through phone calls, which provided her with deeper insights into the behind-the-scenes operations necessary for the club's success.
She will co-captain the Dragons alongside Dally M Medallist Raecene McGregor in their Round 1 match against the Raiders.
Hopkins believes that her experience will help her lead the team effectively as they compete in the expanded 12-team Telstra Women's Premiership.
