The Newcastle Knights and Sydney Roosters have reportedly restarted discussions regarding the immediate transfer of English winger Dominic Young.
According to zerotackle.com, Young is set to return to first-grade this weekend following Robert Toia's unexpected State of Origin debut.
Previously, Young had been in talks with the Knights about a move back to the club but those discussions fell through after Roosters coach Trent Robinson criticized the Knights for their conduct.
Robinson claimed the Knights approached the Roosters, then insisted they cover part of Young's salary for this and the next season.
The Roosters had no desire to release Young, and despite reshaping his backline, Robinson expressed his commitment to helping Young regain his first-grade position.
Young was dropped due to concerns regarding his defensive and ball-handling skills.
Now, News Corp indicates that negotiations have re-entered the conversation, with the Knights eager to explore options to re-sign Young.
