Wolves howl as pressure curls around Hull KR

Warrington Wolves' Matt Dufty: The pressure is on 'favourites' Hull KR in Challenge Cup final

Warrington Wolves' Matt Dufty believes that the pressure lies on the "favourites" Hull KR as the teams get ready for the Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Despite a challenging season for Warrington, with six wins and seven losses placing them eighth in the Super League table, Dufty sees the moment as an opportunity for his team to shine free of pressure.

Hull KR, on the other hand, is in a strong position with only one loss, leading the table with 22 points.

Dufty remarked that while Hull KR may enter the final with confidence due to their strong season, Warrington's situation allows them to approach the game with a lighter mindset, focusing on having "fun" and playing pressure-off rugby.

He noted the lessons learned from their previous Challenge Cup final in 2024, where Warrington faced a disappointing 18-8 loss to Wigan Warriors, attributing part of that performance to the weight of expectation.

Now, as they prepare for this final, the Wolves aim to embrace a different approach, capitalizing on the opportunity to compete without the constraints of being favorites.
