Stand-in skipper Wilton to lead by example

In a bold move, Sharks.com.au declares that stand-in skipper Teig Wilton is set to lead by example in the upcoming clash against the Eels at CommBank Stadium on Thursday night.

Wilton, a second-rower hailing from Narooma, will look to channel the spirit of legendary captain Cameron McInnes as he takes on the esteemed role of guiding the team in McInnes' absence, along with fellow leader Nicho Hynes who is away in the NSW Origin camp.

At just 24 years old, Wilton is no stranger to leadership, having previously steered the Sharks to victory in the Jersey Flegg premiership back in 2018.

His experience doesn't stop there, as he also captained a New South Wales under-20s team filled with future Rugby League stars in 2019.

With this impressive resume, Wilton is poised to inspire his teammates with his actions on the field, embodying the true essence of a captain in the Rugby League arena.
