The ongoing contract discussions involving Xavier Willison and the Brisbane Broncos have taken an interesting turn, as the player is reportedly in the process of switching management.
Willison is currently addressing his management changes while the Broncos look to finalize a long-term deal for the 24-year-old forward.
Code Sports has reported that the Kiwi representative is looking to partner with Ahmad Merhi of Sportsplayer management agency.
Merhi is the same agent who represented Payne Haas, who landed a lucrative agreement with South Sydney after leaving the Broncos.
As Willison navigates his management transition, discussions regarding an extension with Brisbane are believed to be paused.
He has previously expressed a strong desire to stay with the Broncos, indicating he wants to be with the club for as long as possible.
"I want to keep (myself) at the Broncos. I want to stay here for as long as I can," he remarked to the media.
While the Broncos will have some salary cap space after Haas' departure, the addition of seasoned forward Mitch Barnett will also affect their financial flexibility.
