The Canberra Region Rugby League gathered on Wednesday evening to celebrate the 2023 seniors season at the annual Les McIntyre Medal Presentation Night.

The prestigious Les McIntyre Medal for the Best & Fairest of the Canberra Raiders Cup First Grade competition was awarded to Sam Williams, captain-coach of the Queanbeyan Kangaroos.

Williams received 22 points, securing his place at the top of the leaderboard.

Matthew Woolnough from the Belconnen United Sharks closely followed with 21 points, narrowly missing out on the top spot.

Jordan Martin from the Queanbeyan Blues trailed closely behind, earning 20 points and solidifying his place in the top three.

Other notable players who received recognition for their outstanding performances throughout the season include Terry Campese from the Woden Valley Rams with 19 points, Tom Robertson from the Queanbeyan Blues with 18 points, and Brent Crisp from the Queanbeyan Kangaroos with 17 points.

Hollie Massey, the halfback for the Gungahlin Bulls, was honored with the prestigious Maree Bush Medal as the Best & Fairest of the Katrina Fanning Shield competition.

Massey's exceptional skills and leadership on the field earned her this well-deserved recognition.

The event showcased the immense talent and dedication of the players who participated in the 2023 seniors season.

It was a night filled with celebration and appreciation for the hard work and commitment displayed by all the award winners and participants in the Canberra Raiders Cup and Katrina Fanning Shield competitions.
