Whistle While You Wreck: Marshall's Referee Rant

Wests Tigers head coach, Marshall, may face NRL sanctions after making comments about referees during a post-match press conference.

In his statements, he claimed his team was unfairly affected by officiating decisions, specifically referencing two calls against Jarome Luai.

One decision involved a perceived late hit on Nathan Cleary as he was kicking the ball, while the other concerned an escort penalty.

Marshall expressed his frustration, stating, "The game is so hard and demanding.

And I actually feel sorry for the players because they didn't actually get to decide tonight," underscoring his belief that important moments in the game were influenced by the referees' choices.

He described his discontent with the calls, stating, "I thought two calls, the first one on Jarome, on last, making a tackle.

I thought it was outrageous.

That decision took them to 12-10."

This isn't the first instance where Marshall has publicly criticized match officials this year, joining other coaches who have also faced potential penalties for similar remarks.

The ongoing tensions between coaches and referees in the NRL raise questions about the balance of accountability in the league.
