The Wests Tigers have strengthened their fullback options by signing one of rugby league's promising young talents, who is also a member of the 2024 Australian Schoolboys team.
The contract is a three-year agreement that runs until the end of 2028. Initially, the St Dominic's College graduate will participate under a train-and-trial deal for the 2026 season. Following that, he will transition to the club's development list in 2027, finally moving to the Top 30 roster in the last year of his contract.
His addition allows him to train alongside Jahream Bula, aiding his development as he competes with Heath Mason and Tino Tavana for the backup role behind the Fijian international for the upcoming season.
Earlier this year, Attard had the chance to train with the Panthers' first-grade team during a four-week period, where he stood out in the lower grades. Although he was set to participate in the NRL Pre-Season Challenge in 2025, an unfortunate back injury prevented his involvement.
In just two NSW Cup matches this year, the young player impressed by scoring two tries and averaging 123 running metres per game, showcasing his potential in the fullback position.
"I did a four-week program before Christmas, and it was a good experience," Attard shared with this publication in May. "It was good to get around all those boys. [Nathan] Cleary was really good with all the young boys, so it was really good to be around all of them."
