The Wests Tigers are on the hunt to secure the bright future of young gun Heamasi Makasini, who has been turning heads with his impressive performances in the Harold Matthews Cup this season.
Hailing from the Western Suburbs Magpies, Makasini has been a standout player, racking up an impressive 64 points in just four games, including six tries and 20 goals.
His talent has not gone unnoticed, as he is currently a key player for the Under-16s NSW Waratahs team and has previously represented the Under-16s Australian rugby union side.
Reports from The Daily Telegraph suggest that Makasini's skills have not only caught the attention of the Tigers but also other rival clubs.
In a move to secure his future, the Tigers recently held a meeting with the young star, with NRL coach Benji Marshall, CEO Shane Richardson, and General Manager of Football Matthew Betsey all in attendance, as well as Makasini, his parents, and agent Mario Tartak.
"Heamasi is a rising star in the local junior ranks," Betsey commented to The Daily Telegraph, hinting at the potential bright future ahead for the talented youngster.
