Wests Tigers' Laulilii Joins Warriors

The Wests Tigers have announced the immediate exit of outside back Luke Laulilii.

Having already signed with the Perth Bears for their inaugural season in 2027, Laulilii is now set to join the New Zealand Warriors for the rest of the current season.

While the Warriors have yet to officially confirm the signing, it's understood that Laulilii's departure was facilitated by the Tigers to allow him to take up an opportunity at another NRL club.

The 20-year-old made his debut in 2024, featuring in five games for the Tigers that season. He played four more matches in 2025 and has since made eight appearances in the current year, although he hasn't played since Round 11 after a collision with the Manly Sea Eagles.

This emerging talent will bolster the Warriors' backline, especially in light of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck's recent ACL injury, which has sidelined him for the rest of the campaign.

Reflecting on his time with the Tigers, Laulilii expressed appreciation for the club's impact on his life.

"Wests Tigers will always hold a special place in my heart, I've grown up in the area and have made friends here for life," Laulilii said.

"To come through the grades at the Magpies, play with my brother and make it to the NRL to represent the Wests Tigers are lifelong memories that will always be special to me.

"I'm grateful to Benji and the coaches for their support this year and wish all the boys all the best for the rest of the season."
