Charlie Murray, a forward for the Wests Tigers, is reportedly being offered to rival teams just weeks after signing a contract extension for the 2026 season, raising questions about his future with the club.
Murray's journey has been one of the heartwarming stories of the season; he made his NRL debut about two months ago, after moving to Sydney on a train-and-trial contract earlier this year.
In addition to his rugby career, the young utility forward works as a finance broker. He has played two first-grade games this season and has performed admirably in the NSW Cup for the Western Suburbs Magpies.
His contributions earned him a contract extension for 2026 and a spot on the club's development list. However, reports from All Out Rugby League indicate that Murray has become one of the latest NRL players to be offered to Super League clubs, following the competition's increase in international quota players from seven to ten.
Having previously been part of the Gold Coast Titans and Melbourne Storm systems, the 23-year-old revealed before his debut in June that he had almost left the sport altogether before the Tigers provided him a second chance.
