In a recent episode of The Bench, St Helens full-back Jack Welsby, joined Sky Sports pundits Jon Wilkin and Sam Tomkins to discuss his injury setback.

Welsby, a key player for the England international team, has been sidelined with a pesky hamstring injury, keeping him out of action since the defeat to Leigh Leopards on July 26.

For Welsby, this injury has been a new challenge, one he's had to tackle head-on as he navigates his way through his first professional career setback.

However, the 23-year-old remains upbeat and hopeful that he will soon be able to lace up his boots and hit the field for the Saints.

With only five rounds left in the regular season, Welsby is eager to make his return and help secure a spot in the Super League play-offs.

"It's a real test for me to be in rehab for the first time," Welsby shared on Sky Sports' rugby league podcast The Bench.

"We've had the fair share of setbacks, but we're slowly starting to recover and regroup."

As Welsby sets his sights on a comeback before the season's end, rugby league fans will be eagerly anticipating his return to the pitch, ready to see him make his mark once again with his lightning-fast speed and agile footwork.

Stay tuned to Sky Sports and Sky Sports+ to catch every match of the 2024 Betfred Super League season, including the triumphant return of Jack Welsby.
