Kaeo Weekes, the Raiders' fullback, has claimed the title of the fastest player in the NRL this year as the league's speedsters gear up for Magic Round.

According to nrl.com.au and data from the Telstra Tracker, Weekes has reached a remarkable top speed of 36km/h, narrowly surpassing Dolphins player Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.

He is the only player to exceed the 10 metres per second threshold this season, achieving a speed of 10.01 m/s.

A former sprinting standout in high school, Weekes had previously clocked a 10.98s 100m sprint at the age of 17.

His current speed on the rugby field indicates a significant enhancement since joining the Raiders.

Among the wingers, Penrith's Casey McLean leads with a speed of 9.97m/s (35.89km/h), just ahead of Cronulla's Ronaldo Mulitalo who reaches 35.82km/h.

In the centres, Jaxon Purdue records the fastest speed at 35.42km/h, with Canberra's Seb Kris closely trailing at 35.35km/h.

The upcoming Magic Round is set to showcase these incredible speed talents.
