Webster Discusses Metcalf's Impact and Controversy

Warriors Maintain Optimism for Luke Metcalf Despite Season's Challenges

On Wednesday, New Zealand Warriors head coach Andrew Webster shared insights on SEN Radio regarding Luke Metcalf's performance this season and his potential impact as the team eyes a premiership title.

The talented playmaker, who was in contention for the Dally M award last season until he suffered an ACL injury, is now on his path back, competing in the NSW Cup.

Webster has faced challenges with the absence of the former Sharks player, who will join the St George Illawarra Dragons next season under a three-year contract.

Recently, the Warriors have garnered attention following a controversial shot-clock incident that contributed to their defeat against the Sharks in Round 15.

While typically composed, Webster expressed frustration about the outcome, labeling the incident as "unprofessional."

"I have to (move on) and trust that the NRL will sort it," he remarked, showing his commitment to focusing ahead.

Currently, he is concentrating on present challenges and gaining lessons from the match against the Sharks, yet he admitted disappointment in his own response during the game.
