The New Zealand Warriors have hit a winning streak in the Jersey Flegg Cup, notching their second victory in a row after a thrilling 28-22 victory over Penrith at North Harbour Stadium.
After a six-week drought, the Warriors are now on fire, following up their triumph over St George Illawarra with another impressive display on the field.
The match started with Penrith drawing first blood with a try from Nick Murphy, but the Warriors quickly fought back with tries from wingers Robin Strong and Phranklyn Mano-Le-Mamea, taking a 12-4 lead.
However, Penrith managed to close the gap to 12-8 by halftime, and then surged ahead with a converted try early in the second half, making it a tense 12-14 deficit for the Warriors.
But the Warriors didn't back down.
They were able to turn the tide with a standout performance from three young players who had begun the season in the SG Ball Cup.
This newfound momentum proved to be the turning point, leading the Warriors to secure a well-deserved victory on home turf.
The Warriors are now proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Jersey Flegg Cup, showing that they have what it takes to compete at the highest level.
