The New Zealand Warriors have confirmed the re-signing of second-rower Kurt Capewell, ensuring his presence in Auckland for an additional 12 months.
Recently back from his stint with the Queensland Maroons, where he played in all three matches in the back row, Capewell now turns his attention to propelling the Warriors further into the finals after signing a one-year contract.
The 32-year-old has previously played for Cronulla, Penrith, and Brisbane before making his way to the Warriors across the Tasman Sea.
Capewell comes with a wealth of big-game experience, having secured a premiership with the Panthers in 2021, and reaching the Grand Final with the Broncos in 2023.
Known for his capability to deliver consistent 80-minute games, Capewell adds significant leadership and experience to the developing young Warriors lineup.
Warriors head coach Andrew Webster expressed his enthusiasm about Capewell's continued presence at the club.
"Throughout his career Kurt has proved his value as a player and a person," stated coach Webster in a Warriors announcement.
"We love having him here. He's such an important player and we're delighted to have him for at least another season."
With 185 NRL appearances since his debut in 2016, Capewell has touched down over the try line 35 times throughout his career, proving to be a dependable option for center positions during injuries.
