In a thrilling Jersey Flegg Cup match at 4 Pines Park, the NZ Warriors salvaged a 26-22 victory over the Sea Eagles after a significant second-half lapse.

Despite initially holding a strong 20-6 halftime lead, the Warriors faced pressure as the Sea Eagles attempted a comeback.

The Warriors, looking to rebound from a disappointing 14-40 loss to Penrith the previous week, started strong.

Maui Winitana-Patelesio, filling in for Jett Cleary, set the tone early by executing a well-placed bomb to the right.

Winger Brandon Norris skillfully caught the ball, setting up second rower Alvin Chong Nee for a try just five minutes into the game.

Four minutes later, Thompson kicked from the left to right, with Norris again making an impact by scoring his own try.

The Warriors continued their offensive display, and by the 22nd minute, Thompson capped off the first half with a well-executed angled run to the line.

Though leading 26-22 after the break, the Warriors couldn't extend their lead or fully shake off the Sea Eagles, who pressed for points.

Ultimately, the Warriors' defense held steady, allowing them to secure their sixth win of the season.

The match exemplified both the team's offensive prowess and its resilience under pressure.
