The New Zealand Warriors have confirmed that winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira has joined their injury roster.
Initially labeled as suffering from a "bad cork," the club has clarified that the real issue is a quadriceps contusion.
This injury occurred just before halftime during the match against the Cronulla Sharks last Saturday.
Khan-Pereira managed to continue until the break before being substituted for Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad.
This setback is particularly unfortunate for a player who had recently begun to hit his stride in Auckland.
As of now, the club has not provided an estimated return date for Khan-Pereira.
On a positive note, hooker Samuel Healey, who had fractured his thumb and was expected to be sidelined until Round 17 or 18 post-surgery, has been cleared for an earlier return.
However, the situation remains uncertain for forwards James Fisher-Harris (calf) and Leka Halasima (hamstring), as there is still no timeline for their return.
