Adam Gee is now in contention to referee the NRL grand final after receiving the whistle for Friday's preliminary final between the Dolphins and Sydney Roosters.
Ashley Klein was removed from the on-field appointments following his error-strewn performance during the Warriors' loss to Newcastle, but he will serve as bunker official.
Gerard Sutton replaces Klein for Penrith's meeting with Newcastle, beating Grant Atkins to the appointment.
Sutton has refereed seven NRL grand finals, while Gee previously controlled the 2023 decider between Penrith and Brisbane.
Gee and Sutton are therefore effectively the remaining grand-final refereeing candidates, after Gee was retained ahead of Atkins and Sutton last weekend.
Chris Butler remains in the bunker despite sharing responsibility with Klein for the controversial closing stages of the Warriors-Knights match.
Matt Noyen, Daniel Luttringer, Phil Henderson and Tyson Brough retain the touch-judge roles, while the NRLW appointments are unchanged.
Gee will work with Henderson and Brough, and Klein will handle the bunker; Sutton's assistants are Noyen and Luttringer, with Butler in the bunker.
Kadey Badger, Rochelle Tamarua, Tori Wilkie and Liam Kennedy comprise another NRLW officiating team, while Belinda Sharpe, Karra-Lee Nolan, Izzy Davidson and Todd Smiths form the other.
