The NZ Warriors faced a disappointing defeat in the New South Wales Cup week one final against South Sydney, with a final score of 26-12.

Despite several regular players being absent due to NRL duties, the Warriors started the game with confidence.

Prop Zyon Maiu'u made an impressive break and passed to Tanner Stowers-Smith for a fantastic try.

The first half ended with a 6-6 tie.

However, a crucial moment in the second half proved costly for the Warriors.

Winger Moala Graham-Taufa was stopped just short of a try after a brilliant attacking move.

This missed opportunity allowed the Rabbitohs to score two consecutive tries, giving them an 18-6 lead.

A penalty kick extended their lead to 20-6.

The Warriors now face a sudden-death play-off in their next match.
