Warriors' First Eden Park Finals Match

Eden Park

The Newcastle Knights reached the Warriors' second finals opportunity by defeating South Sydney 20-10 in Friday night's elimination play-off.

That match will be played at Eden Park on Sunday, September 20, with a 6.05pm kick-off.

It will be the first NRL finals match held at Eden Park and the Warriors' first home final away from Go Media Stadium.

The NRL confirmed the venue after the Warriors lost 16-26 to the Dolphins at Go Media Stadium in their qualifying final.

By finishing in the regular-season top two, the Warriors secured two home finals and a second chance after a week-one defeat.

A victory over the Dolphins would have sent them into a home preliminary final, with another win securing a grand-final place.

Instead, the seventh-placed Knights will visit the Warriors, while victory would send Newcastle into a week-three preliminary final in Australia.

The situation mirrors 2023, when fourth-placed New Zealand lost to Penrith before defeating Newcastle 40-10 at Go Media Stadium.

This will be the Warriors' seventh home final and their seventh appearance at Eden Park.

They last played there 12 years ago, beating Canberra in 2014.
