Warriors Face Potential Departure of Hanson

The New Zealand Warriors might face the departure of another talented halfback, as Luke Hanson has been linked with a move away from Auckland.

A product of the esteemed Penrith Panthers development program, Hanson was part of their championship-winning SG Ball team in 2022.

With impressive fitness levels, a strong work ethic, and top-notch playmaking abilities, the Warriors aimed to secure him for a pathway to the NRL in 2024. He ultimately made his NRL debut in Round 3 of this season against the Newcastle Knights.

Hanson honed his skills during the 2024 and 2025 seasons in the NSW Cup, where the Warriors excelled in the competition. This period included a fourth-place finish in 2024 and a title victory along with the minor premiership in the following year.

In his first match, he stepped up alongside Tanah Boyd during a challenging start to the Warriors' season, contributing with a try and an assist in the inaugural game of his career.
