Wakefield Trinity reached its first Super League grand final by beating Wigan 33-6, setting up Saturday's match against Warrington Wolves.
The game kicks off at 0300 Sunday AEST, with more than 70,000 spectators guaranteed-the event's biggest crowd in almost a decade.
It will produce a first-time champion for the second consecutive year, after Hull KR won last season.
Warrington's title drought dates to 1955, and the club has lost all four of its previous grand finals.
Coach Sam Burgess won the 2014 Clive Churchill Medal as South Sydney beat Canterbury, ending the Rabbitohs' title wait dating to 1971.
"It's more about this new group and creating the own piece of history, rather than being weighed down by the past."
Burgess took charge at Warrington in 2024 after coaching at Souths; the Wolves have since lost two Challenge Cup finals.
He praised Wakefield and coach Daryl Powell after the semi-final, saying, "We weren't surprised, but I guess nobody expected that scoreline. When they're hot, they can be very hot."
Powell said, "I think there's a freshness to it," and believes the salary cap has helped level the competition.
The final comes after almost three decades of dominance by Wigan, Leeds, St Helens and Bradford, as the governing body discusses potential NRL investment.
