Sam Burgess is facing a nail-biting finish as he awaits approval to enter the US for his team's highly anticipated showdown in Las Vegas\.

The Warrington Wolves are set to clash with the Wigan Warriors in a thrilling rugby league showdown at Allegiant Stadium\.

However, the legendary Burgess is stuck in visa limbo and was unable to join his squad on the flight to America.

The former South Sydney Rabbitohs star made a dash to the US embassy in London to try and fast-track his visa after encountering a snag with US authorities\.

While keeping mum on the specifics of the delay, Burgess remains optimistic that he will get the green light, acknowledging that the situation is out of his hands.

"My visa application is currently under review and it's been a bit of a journey," Burgess revealed on BBC radio\.

"I have faith in the process and the effort that's gone into it\.

I believe I'll make it in time\.

The final approval rests with the US board of control, so now we play the waiting game\.

I'm not too far off from catching up with the team\.

Everyone is eager for a resolution, so fingers crossed for the next 24-48 hours."

Meanwhile, Corey Parker, a renowned Broncos great, criticized league officials for not including a Queensland team in the lineup for the Vegas showdown\.

He believes they dropped the ball on this particular decision, hinting at a missed opportunity for showcasing Queensland talent on the big stage\.

Burgess and his Wolf pack will be hoping for a swift resolution as the clock ticks down to kick-off in Sin City.
