Viking clap in Vegas: A lightbulb moment that converted me to a Las Vegas enthusiast
Las Vegas: It's taken five days, but this was a lightbulb moment.
Which is ironic given the number of lights, neon signs and LEDs that keep Las Vegas lit up like a Christmas tree 24-7-365.
It's hard not to be impressed by the scenes at the NRL fan event at the iconic Fremont Street in downtown Vegas on Friday, where up to 10,000 rugby league fans crammed into the covered street.
And for once, it wasn't just the Poms making all the noise.
It had serious NRL grand final party vibes as each team was led through the thousands of fans to center stage.
There was the first-ever Viking clap in Las Vegas.
Not quite up to 2019 grand final standards, but not a bad warm up for the big game on Sunday - the Canberra Raiders versus the New Zealand Warriors at Allegiant Stadium.
Until now, I wasn't convinced.
Sure it's great being in Sin City to see the ridiculous nature of everything.
Flying out to the Grand Canyon West was pretty sweet.
Once-in-a-lifetime stuff.
