The ongoing rivalry between the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs is intensifying, marked by a recent heated dispute between these storied clubs.
According to a report by The Daily Telegraph, the Rabbitohs have submitted a formal request to the NSW Rugby League, seeking to remove the Roosters from Matraville Sports High School, claiming it falls within their designated Junior Rugby League district.
Although their initial request was denied, the Rabbitohs remain optimistic and are urging the NSWRL to reconsider their decision.
This request is part of a larger conflict, with the Rabbitohs eager to claim Allianz Stadium as their new home-a move that has upset the Roosters.
Currently, the Roosters utilize Matraville Sports High School as a training facility for their junior representative teams.
Rabbitohs chairman Nick Pappas asserts that the regulations are explicit, stating that the Roosters should not have the right to conduct training sessions on the grounds.
