Tupouniua's Setback Clouds Bulldogs' Finals Aspirations

‘He’s pretty shattered’: Ciraldo’s devastating reveal on five-minute heartbreak

Cameron Ciraldo has shared concerning news regarding Sitili Tupouniua, who has re-injured his hamstring, leading to potential setbacks for the Bulldogs' finals ambitions.

After recently returning from an extensive period away from the field, Tupouniua played only a brief five minutes during the team's 20-18 defeat to the Roosters before experiencing another setback.

Ciraldo remarked, "I'm not sure how bad it is but he felt it in the same spot where he injured it about eight weeks ago," during his post-match media briefing.

This situation is particularly disheartening for Tupouniua, as he was enjoying the best form of his career earlier in 2026 prior to suffering a torn hamstring in late June.

Ciraldo noted, "He's pretty devastated because he was training really well," highlighting Tupouniua's strong preparation before his return.

"He was just excited to get back playing. This is what he does, this is what he loves doing, so he's pretty shattered," Ciraldo added, expressing empathy for the player's predicament.
