Former Wests Tigers outside back Izaac Tu'itupou has secured a new contract with a different club for the upcoming 2026 season, enabling him to extend his rugby league career.

Tu'itupou is one of six players released by the Wests Tigers after the 2025 NRL season, joining teammates like Brandon Tumeth and Brent Naden. He will now play for Lakes United Seagulls, who participate in the Denton Engineering Cup.

The Lakes United Seagulls, established in 1945, are part of the Newcastle competition and are based out of Lake Macquarie. The team aims to improve upon their 2025 performance, where they finished second-last in the standings, just ahead of the Northern Hawks.

Despite appearing in only one match for the Wests Tigers this season, the 29-year-old has a history with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, where he played for several years.

During his tenure with the Rabbitohs, Tu'itupou was a consistent presence in the NSW Cup, earning a spot in the Team of the Year in 2023. He also scored six tries in 13 first-grade appearances for the club from 2022 to 2024.
