QLD Cup: Utility playmaker returns to Central Queensland Capras

After spending a year with the North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup, utility playmaker Trey Brown has opted to return to Queensland for the 2026 season.

Brown, who left the Central Queensland Capras at the end of last year after a six-season tenure, has rejoined the team by signing a one-year contract for the upcoming QLD Cup season.

Although primarily a dummy-half, Brown is versatile enough to play in the halves, bringing considerable experience to the squad. He began his career in 2016 within the Manly Sea Eagles system and played two seasons in the Under-20s competition at Northern Beaches.

During his 14 matches with the Bears this past season, he accumulated 24 points, assisted one try, provided one line-break assist, and made a total of 264 tackles with an impressive efficiency rate of 94.3 percent.

"We are excited to announce the signing of a familiar face back to the CQ Capras for 2026!" a statement from the club's social media read.

"Welcome back to Central Queensland, Trey Brown!"
