Trent Barrett calls out Sivo, Tuilagi for errors

Parramatta Eels coach Trent Barrett has lashed out at Maika Sivo and Kelma Tuilagi for their "dumb" mistakes during Friday night's clash, which ultimately saw the Broncos triumph over them 30-24.

At one point holding a commanding 16-0 lead, the Eels now find themselves teetering on the edge of claiming the wooden spoon, thanks to a string of costly errors during the game.

Having reached the NRL Grand Final in 2022, the club now faces the grim possibility of securing their fourth wooden spoon in just 13 seasons, as key players like Mitchell Moses, J'maine Hopgood, and Junior Paulo remain sidelined with injuries.

Displeased with his team's performance, Barrett did not mince words as he called out Sivo and Tuilagi for their blunders that allowed the Broncos to claw their way back into the contest.

"I would have taken that lead if you'd said that to me before the game...the back end of the first half and the errors we made in the second half were poor," Barrett remarked post-match.

The Eels now find themselves in a precarious position, with their season hanging in the balance as they strive to bounce back from this disappointing defeat.
